Class Dojo
Class Dojo is a tool that I have chosen to explore out of my own interest.
What is Class Dojo?
Class Dojo is a community of over 50 million teachers and parents that can come together to share all aspects of a students work and achievements. It can be used as a feed for photos and videos for parents to see at home. Class Dojo helps teachers build a positive learning environment for their class. It is free for everyone and can be used for kindergarten all the way up to high school. It is also a safe online community for students to play, learn, and grow. The teacher page is divided into three sections: classroom, class story, and messages. The classroom section allows teachers to track their class' points, and student points. Class Dojo is very easy to use, and organized. All that is needed to start is to set up a class and then have your students join the class. Then they get to create their own avatar. I think this tool is versatile. There is so many tools that teachers can use in this technology. It isn't just a classroom management tool, it is also a tool to communicate with teachers.
I plan on using Class Dojo is my future classroom. I believe it is a great classroom management tool. I also believe it will be a great tool to use to communicate with parents and other teachers. Having a positive learning environment is so important for me and this tool is supposed to build that which is another reason why I plan on using it.
How it relates to TLC and TPACK/Webb's Framework?
Class Dojo relates to the communication aspect of the TLC framework. This technology allows me to share pictures and videos to a feed that parents can see at home. On the platform there is a section just for messages so parents can message me and I will be able to message them.

Hello Camryn,
ReplyDeleteI really like how smooth your blog post is and all the information. I think students would really like the aspects of collecting points as well as customizing their avatars. Overall, I think you gave a really good overview and have convinced me to try it out in my future classrooms.
