Legends of Learning

Legends of learning is a tool that I have chosen to explore out of my own interest.

What is Legends of Learning?

Legends of Learning is a technology that provides math and science content for teachers, students, and parents. There are several different games for students to play that are individualized to their learning needs. The games that students will play track their progress so that teachers, and parents can see the progression. Not only do they have games for students to play they provide lesson plans for the teachers. Teachers can even assign games as assignments. I believe kids will love playing games as there homework. I would say that this technology is fairly easy to use. All that is needed is to make an account as a teacher and you can assigns games for your students to play. I also believe that this technology is versatile. There are over 2,000 different games for all different types of learners. This makes it fun for all the students. The games they play all have different content as well, in the science games they can learn about biodiversity, newtons laws, and plant reproduction.

I could definitely seeing myself using this technology in my classroom. I think it is a great tool for students to use as their homework, but also makes it easy for teachers to check in with their students and see their progression. I also love how it allows parents to see their child's progression as well. It will allow parents to be more involved than they usually are.

How it relates to TLC and TPACK/Webb's Framework?

legends of Learning relates to the learning aspect of the TLC framework. This technology definitely allows students to learn about math and science in all different ways. Legends of learning also relates to the technological content knowledge of the TPACK framework. It relates to TCK because it is a technological tool that is teaching content to the students in an enhanced way. This technology changes the way I can teach math, and for students to learn it.

  2. Hey Camryn, I have never heard of this before, but this seems like a great tool! I really like the versatility of this. I think that this is something I would use in my classroom because teachers are able to assign homework and students would be highly engaged because all they have to do is play a game.
