Kahoot

 This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PowerPoint about previous T3PP results. Specifically Kahoot in the software list from elementary teachers. Kahoot has been a tool that many of my teachers used in high school. 

What is Kahoot?

Kahoot is a very easy website to use. It is also free so all teachers have to do is make an account to get started. It is a digital learning platform that make games out of quizzes to make learning more fun. Once the account is made it only takes minutes to set up a Kahoot. If you don't want to make a Kahoot you can look up a subject and use a Kahoot that has already been made by other teachers. 

Kahoot is also very versatile. It can be used for all different types of subjects and types of questions. You can do multiple choice, true or false questions, or even survey questions. I will be able to use Kahoot for any subject I want to test my students on.

How it relates to the TLC and 7 Events Frameworks

Using Kahoot definitely connects to the 7-events planning we have been discussing in class. This tool could be really helpful when I need to assess my students before and after lessons to see how much they have learned. When I introduce a new lesson we are going to be learning I can have the class do the Kahoot I created to see how much previous knowledge they have about the subject. Later on after we have finished the lesson I can give them the same Kahoot to see how much their scores improved, and see how much they learned. It also connects to the learning aspect of the TLC framework. Getting to play these game will allow them learn about the new content being tested. 

One way I think I could use it in my classroom is by having my students make Kahoots about themselves. I was thinking at the start of the year each student could make a Kahoot with several different questions about themselves, that their classmates might know the answers to. Each day I could choose a student and we would play what they have created so everyone in the class can get to know each of their classmates better. I will also just use it to test the knowledge of my students and use it as a fun game for my students.
